About the Artist:

Keith Metzler was born in upstate New York in 1935. His
life has been guided by personal artistic expression and a deep love of
nature. This love has guided him through parallel careers as both a fine
artist and curator. While continuously creating new art, he has held
production, planning, teaching, management and curatorial positions with the
Corcoran Museum School of Art, the National Planning Association, the
Smithsonian Museum of Natural History, the New Jersey State Museum and the
New York State Museum. Influenced by the natural dynamics of his
surroundings ,Keith has produced and exhibited artwork across the United
States. Currently his painting “Iron Crosses” is part of the traveling
exhibit “San Francisco and the Second Wave: The Blair Collection of Bay Area
Abstract Expressionists. His most recent body of work “A New Cosmic Dynamic”
is a visual exploration inspired by some of the ideas and theories
astronomers and astrophysicists are exploring today as they seek to
understand the energies and forces powering our universe. Residing in his
art studio home, the restored 1888 Edison School house in upstate New York,
Keith is still climbing the Adirondack Mountains and walking the empty
farmlands.
